American-Norwegian music duo NIGHTMÅNE is back with their 4th single ‘Dance My Tears Away’, a dance hall synth-pop anthem and a self-proclaimed ode to dance therapy. Much like their first single ‘Fall Apart’ and their most recent single ‘Fool’, there’s an emotional element to the story but the takeaway is simple…just dance until your tears disappear. In a nod to early GaGa and Robyn records, NIGHTMÅNE invites us to dance wherever we may be, whether we’re out beginning to socialize with people after a year of isolation, or if we’re still rocking out alone in our bedrooms. ‘Dance My Tears Away’ not only has the signature analog pulsing synths and drum machines that they’ve been known for, but also a full string arrangement which suggests an homage to classic disco and famed Swedish-Pop group ABBA. Singer Anthony Starble isn’t afraid to sing about the inevitability that sadness can come with wearing your heart on your sleeve. With bold vibrato filled vocals, he lets you know that it’s gonna be ok because you’ve always got your favorite song and you can always move to the beat, and this beat is sure to get you moving. Producer Sigurd Heimdal goes bold on ‘Dance My Tears Away’ and delivers a sonic tidal wave from beginning to end, starting small with a kick and snare and growing into a euphoric crash of head bobbing side-chained synths that envelope the listener in sound. ‘Dance My Tears Away’ is a song you can always come back to to restore your state of mind, but more than that, it’s a song that we all need to hear right now while we’re all experiencing some level of heightened sadness.
