After an explosive debut release with 80’s synth pop anthem ‘Fall Apart’, NIGHTMÅNE is back with their follow up single ‘Misfits’. In this equally dramatic anthem, NIGHTMÅNE sings about the overwhelming pressure to fit in and be relevant. The chorus acts as a call to action. In catchy pop fashion, lead singer Anthony Starble sings ‘We’re the Misfits, we’re the outcasts, knock us down and we’re gonna bounce back’. The song is a testament to owning one’s own self expression and how even if you feel completely misunderstood, the power in being yourself is greater than any power that threatens to break you down. It’s a universal message we need in the world today. With a stylish half time beat and sparse rhythmic synths in the verses, there’s space for the vocals to really narrate Starble’s inner monologue in producer Sigurd Heimdals’ meticulously crafted production. By the time the chorus hits, the texture really thickens and Starble’s high chest voice really brings home the message. ‘Misfits’ really sets up NIGHTMÅNE as a band to pay attention to this year with radio ready songs and impactful lyrics.
