NIGHTMÅNE is back for their third release this year with ‘FOOL’ to show you their vulnerability and tug on your heart strings. In anthemic synth-pop fashion once again, NIGHTMÅNE explores the emotional trials of being in a relationship with someone so distant that they seem to look right through you, and the painful realization that you’ve been made a fool for letting them treat you that way. ‘FOOL’ stands out from their first 2 releases with more acoustic textures starting with a somber piano line and including elements like electric guitars and marching snare drums. NIGHTMÅNE mixes these elements with their signature pulsing synths and big chorus vocals to create a genre fusion of melancholic catharsis. ‘FOOL’ started as a lyric concept and very naturally developed into a piano based ballad-style song. NIGHTMÅNE had been exploring ways to incorporate singer Anthony Starble’s classical piano background into their sound and ‘FOOL’ became the perfect opportunity. ‘FOOL’ is a song for everyone that has ever held someone that felt empty, kissed someone that felt hollow, or loved someone who just wasn’t really there at all. It’s a universal sadness that people of all ages and backgrounds have in common, and ‘FOOL’ reminds you that you’re not the only fool out there.
