With their next single ‘LET YOU DOWN’, NIGHTMÅNE takes their pop-crafting abilities to a new arena with a captivating track that straddles the line between the expected and the unpredictable. ‘LET YOU DOWN’ is an emotional head-spin following the internal monologue of singer Anthony Starble as he realizes he’s moving on from a relationship, wondering if it wasn’t meant to be or if he just didn’t try hard enough to make it work. With different sonic personas in each section from a whispery Billie Eilish inspired pre-chorus to a belted chorus anthem à la Imagine Dragons, NIGHTMÅNE creates the perfect framework to illustrate the thoughts bouncing back and forth inside Starble’s head. Producer Sigurd Heimdal is in top form on ‘LET YOU DOWN’, boldly starting the track with an autoharp to express the concept of finality. This perfectly mirrors the lyrics as Starble sings about the end of his relationship. Heimdal then bounces to a minimal pre-chorus of only piano and vocal layers which suddenly explodes into the powerful texture of NIGHTMÅNE’s signature analog synths and punchy drums. All of this comes tied together in catchy pop flair including a hook that is sure to be stuck in your head. ‘LET YOU DOWN’ shows NIGHTMÅNE can stand out from the crowded pop landscape but still gets you singing along.
